iPhone Wi-Fi Free For All?

Various reports indicate the emergence of free wireless internet access for iPhone users at Starbucks and possibly other businesses that offer AT&T Wi-Fi services. In locations where access is available, a specially formatted for iPhone website allows you to enter your 10-digit wireless number to gain access. It’s not clear whether access is limited to as short as two hours or unlimited. In testing in the Houston Bay Area, we’ve not be able to find an access point supporting this new service.

A call to AT&T resulted in a statement of “no comment” at this time. Starbucks and AT&T previously announced free Wi-Fi on February 11, 2008. If you have access in your area we would like to know about it via info@iphoneatlas.com.
