Vodafone files restraining order over German iPhone sales
Posted 20 November 2007 @ 1pm in News, Uncategorized
Vodafone’s German division has filed a retraining order against Deutsche Telekom T-Mobile from selling the iPhone in Germany. Vodafone is questioning T-Mobile’s exclusive contract on the iPhone and the fact that it is sold without customer discounts. According to the Financial Times, Vodafone is concerned that T-Mobile’s iPhone policies “could introduce a new model for the market.” A Vodafone spokesman told Dow Jones that the company isn’t completely opposed to T-Mobile’s exclusivity contract, but rather it wants the practices examined. The restraining order, which doesn’t call for a total sales stop, was issued yesterday by a regional court in Hamburg.
