A post to Apple’s Web Page from Steve Jobs says it all:

AnySIM (free graphical unlock) for 1.1.1 iPhones released; instructions for installing

A version of AnySIM that is compatible with iPhones running software/firmware 1.1.1 has been released. In a nutshell, this means that iPhones running the new software release can be unlocked to run on carriers other than AT&T via an iPhone native application with a graphical interface.

Orange to carry iPhone in France; debut November 29th

Apple has officially announced that Orange, a wireless carrier in France, will be the exclusive French partner for the iPhone, which will debut there on Thursday, November 29.

Shorter battery life after iPhone update 1.1.1: Fixes

A surprisingly high number of users are reporting significantly shorter battery life after applying the iPhone firmware/software 1.1.1 update. Some typical reports:

“Yes, my battery life is terrible after 1.1.1. [...] My phone is off the charger at 8:30 AM and is normally giving me the 20% battery warning at about 6-8 PM in the evenings [...]
