Free iPhone unlock solutions debut: Mac and Windows guides

Posted 11 September 2007 @ 11pm in News

Though details are still sketchy, it looks like a few users have put together free unlock solutions for the iPhone that will allow the device to be used on carriers other than AT&T.

Windows FreeiPhoneUnlock.com has instructions that are a bit complex and require iBrickr, iUnlock, nor, ICE03.14.08_G.fls, minicom, minirc.dfl, bbupdater, WinSCP and putty — all of these files are accesible via download links on the page.

Mac OS X This Hackintosh thread has instructions, which use some of the same files that can be obtained from the aforementioned FreeiPhoneUnlock link. UPDATE: This guide has better, more detailed Mac-specific instructions.

Unlocked my phone this morning … And it works fine with my T-mobile account! T-zones too. :) This is the way it should have been from the start.
