iPhone Web App searches for unused FM frequencies (useful for iPhone-compatible transmitters)

DLO has introduced a new OpenFM scanner optimized for the iPhone. The site allows you to quickly scan for FM frequencies that are not occupied by any (significant) broadcast. It comes in handy when used in conjunction with FM transmitters that broadcast a signal to your car’s radio antenna carrying music and other audio from the iPhone (and other devices). We used the Web app to find some open frequencies with which to link our Griffin RoadTrip, which, by the way, works great with the iPhone — especially in Airplane mode. Of course, it can also be used to find open stations for use with any of DLO’s iPod FM transmitters. Point your iPhone’s Web browser at: http://www.dlo.com/openfm/ to access the Web app.
