iPhone Update 1.0.2 (#2): fixes green photo tint issue for some users; missing audio, fix

Green/blue photo tint fixed for at least some users
It appears that iPhone Update 1.0.2 resolves, for a number of users, an issue where significant green tinting was manifest on photos captured by the built-in camera.
iPhone Atlas reader Scott William writes:
“My iPhone’s Green with Envy is gone or at least substantially improved over my previous pictures. I had no change in the 1.0.1 update, but the 1.0.2 update has improved the color in the photos. While the lighting is slightly different (no sunlight) the old picture, taken on July 3 had a green/blue tone to it, and it did this with all my photos. The color reproduction is much more accurate. Looking through the iPhone lens makes it less like your looking through a color filter.”
As previously reported, the issue with green tint is (was) caused by a problem with the iPhone’s — or at least some iPhones — auto white balancing. Fortunately, this means that problematic images can be quickly corrected by using the Enhance function in iPhoto for Mac OS X, or the Auto Color option (under Image > Adjustments) in Photoshop.
Missing audio, fix
If your iPhone is unable to playback audio after applying the 1.0.2 update, and you have already tried the following:
- Reset your iPhone by holding down the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears;
- Restore your iPhone: Click the Restore button under the Summary tab. Restoring the phone will erase contacts, calendars, photos and other data on the phone, but will restore automatically backed-up information including text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings, etc.
try this: while audio is playing, plug your headphones into the iPhone then disconnect them several times. This may trigger audio to resume output through the built-in speaker.

I can confirm that the camera software must had been adjusted. I noticed the light sensor more responsive and no green tint either.

I just did the update…
Just want to add that the audio from the earpiece and the speaker are NOTICEABLY louder (finally).
I had to do a full restore to get the update to work, and then I immediately had to make a call.
At first, I thought there was no difference in the audio, it sounded exactly the same as before. But then I remembered I had just done a restore so the volume would be set about medium. I looked and sure enough…it was at a medium setting.
After the update, the volume at medium at a medium setting, is equal to the volume at loudest setting before the update.
In fact, now at full volume, the earpiece is almost too loud!!! About time!

Thank you. After installing the update, my iPhone would only work as a speakerphone, no audio in or out as a handheld. I don’t use the headset much, but I saw this note, and after plugging and unplugging a couple of times, it’s working fine now.
