Harper Collins book titles come to the iPhone

HarperCollins announced Wednesday that it had set up a site that has books optimized for the iPhone’s MobileSafari Web browser, according to the International Herald Tribune. It currently allows users to browse a dozen new releases, including Michael C. White’s “Soul Catcher” and Michael Korda’s “Ike,” a biography of President Dwight Eisenhower.

The site uses a proprietary, iPhone-optimized browser and renders pages in PDF format on a scale appropriate for the iPhone. There are forward and back buttons, as well as a book index
